BOPA seeks to assist the directors in building student performance skills, developing music appreciation, and maintaining a high quality music department. BOPA organizes several fundraisers throughout the year to provide financial assistance to the music programs. Funds are used to purchase musical instruments, performance clothes, and equipment not covered in the school budget.
BOPA relies on parent support to fulfill its mission. Parents are encouraged to help organize and coordinate the events, provide staff for the events, and participate in the fundraisers. BOPA is open to anyone interested in the music program. Monthly BOPA meetings are held at the High School on the first Monday of the month at 7:30pm. Advertise your business or send a message to your favorite instrumental students or staff in the Band and Orchestra Program & Ad Book! It will be distributed at all instrumental christmas concerts. VCHS students will keep half of their sales for their upcoming band trip, and VCMS students can get a head start on earning for future trips! Submissions are due by Friday, 11/18. BOPA is currently seeking people to staff the 2016-2017 School Year and beyond. We have MANY vacant positions at this time, and BOPA is at risk of reducing its events to the bare minimum unless new volunteers step forward.
